That which is done due to love towards bhagavAn where a servitor should do acts which lead to the joy in the divine face of the lord.
allAdhapOdhu bIthi mUlamAy varugai
When such love is lacking, as said in “akinchithkarasya SEshathva anupapaththi:” (SEshathvam, servitude, does not fit with one who does not render service) – engaging in kainkaryam due to the fear of losing the servitude when one does not render service. Among these, doing kainkaryam due to bhakthi is primary but if that does not happen, it should at least be done due to fear.
